Former boy band member has a boy himself

Joey McIntyre has a new kid on the block.

The former boy band member and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant and his wife Barrett welcomed a son into their family on Tuesday, Nov. 20 in Los Angeles, reports People.

"The family is happy and healthy," says McIntyre's rep. "Everyone's doing well and they're excited he made it here in time for Thanksgiving."

The baby, who is still awaiting a name, weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. at birth. He is the first child for the couple.

McIntyre, 34, married Barrett, 29, on August 9, 2003, exactly a year after they had met.

McIntyre is best known as the youngest member of New Kids on the Block. He's made a name for himself on the stage as well, starring in productions of "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," "Happy Days," "Wicked" and "Tick, Tick ... BOOM!"

On TV, he appeared on one season of "Boston Public" and came in third place on the first season of "Dancing With the Stars," thanks to professional dance partner Ashly DelGrosso.
