'American Idol': Why Ellen DeGeneres is fit to judge
(FOX)
1 of 10
Fine. So new "American Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres hasn't sung on stage in a bikini (Kara DioGuardi), has never played bass-guitar for Journey (Randy Jackson), or worked with the Teletubbies (Simon Cowell).
But she does have a few qualifications that make her uniquely suited to the position vacated by Paula Abdul.
Added bonus: Maybe her presence at the judging table will put an end to Simon and Ryan's "You're gay," "No, you're gay," jibes once and for all.
