Diane Sawyer is leaving "Good Morning America" to begin anchoring "World News" in January when anchor Charles Gibson retires. She will become just the second female to anchor an evening news show, following in the footsteps of Katie Couric, who left "Today" to anchor the "CBS Evening News" in 2006.
