Award season isn't quite upon us, but it might as well be. In fact, it was around this time last year that the world first heard about a little film called "Slumdog Millionaire." That's because in the biz, filmmakers often look to their northern neighbors at the Toronto International Film Festival to act as the launch pad for their best award contenders each year.
