Michael Vick
Controversial character: Michael Vick
What he did: The Atlanta Falcons quarterback, who was the No. 1 draft pick in 2001 and at one time boasted the highest salary in the NFL, was convicted of conspiracy and running a dog-fighting operation. His Bad Newz Kennel buddies accused Vick of bankrolling the fights and killing pit bulls that didn't perform well.
What happened next: He went to prison and served 18 months for his crimes. In the meantime, the footballer went bankrupt after he couldn't support his fiancé, children, mother and other friends and family. Luckily for Vick, the NFL let him back in. Now, he's playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and earning his keep to the tune of millions.
Residual effects: Not only is Vick back on the field, he's about to launch his own reality show, too. The ex-convict has already started recording the eight-part documentary series for BET, which will tell his rags-to-riches tale along with a look at his life after the dogfighting scandal.
